Re: I moved the Who is Urban Miyares string

Some things I've noticed about this publisher is ...number one.... it is such a small "publisher" that it doesn't even have an actual business location. The address on their website says that they are at this address: Goldminds Publishing, LLC 1050 Glenbrook Way, Suite 480 Hendersonville, ...

Re: I moved the Who is Urban Miyares string

I'm not the only one who has written the publisher by email. A few copies of the emails that I've been made aware of are as follows....less the names of the senders to protect their privacy: I have followed the stories of Urban Miyares and his experience in Vietnam. It is a sorry state that with the...

Re: I moved the Who is Urban Miyares string

Amazon will let you read some of it online before purchase. Since the body bag story is his bread and butter story it shouldn't be hard to find it early on if he includes it. However, it wouldn't be much of a problem to read the part that we are interested in and report here. Libraries could supply ...

Re: I moved the Who is Urban Miyares string

I sent this email just now. Dear Publishers: I recently became aware of your upcoming publication of an autobiography by Urban Miyares and was curious about your reaction to some background information that you may not be aware of related to one small part of his often repeated history. Urban Miyare...

Re: I moved the Who is Urban Miyares string

Looks like this is now going to be the publisher of his "biography". Goldmines Publishing. Not a big time publisher. Looks like a lot of children's books and novels from new authors. It's called... .My Life Outside the Fishbowl. The publishers website. https://www.goldmindspub.com/urban-mi...

Question about the original battalion and "infusion"

My other attached to unit in Vietnam has a facebook page and the "infusion" program was mentioned and how it affected the original group that came over together to Vietnam. In the 3/506 in 1967, the Army suddenly ..or maybe not suddenly... realized that if everyone in a battalion, less cas...

Re: 1st time VA user - Need help.

Randy, I think having this site and having made contact with guys I served with and also with guys like you who served there in the same battalion, even though sometimes in different years and different companies, has done a lot to help me make peace with my Vietnam memories. In addition to the site...

Re: 1st time VA user - Need help.

What you are saying gives me a shiver when I think about my own history and memory. Ron mentioned on the chat an incident he knew about involving me and someone we both know and he wondered if it bothered me .... and I said...truthfully... no. It doesn't bother me to remember. I came through that in...

Re: CPL James W Speer

The album was locked to new posting since there is no capture on it to keep out spam posts. I've tried it without any capture to open it to comment several times but it fills up with all sorts of spam posts really fast and we get no comments at the same time. We could use a better album source....bu...

Re: CPL James W Speer

I don't know for sure who any of them are ...but from the Blue Book which was made at the very end of 69 I'll take a guess that James was in 1st Platoon and a few of the faces look very much like some in the Blue book. The thing about Vietnam was that unless you came over on a boat with a complete n...

Be glad to see the photos. You can scan and post as an attachment at the end of a post. At the bottom of a post page you will see a box "Attachments". Hit that and you will see an "add files". Hit the "add files" and upload from your computer whatever photos you want as...

Jackie, glad you could get past the login question to post. It's there to keep out spambots and has been a double edged sword in keeping people like yourself on the other side of the fence unintentionally. It's good you got around it. The family of the last Battalion Commander Lt. Col. Cornelius Gearin, contributed some photos the colonel came home with. Re: 1st time VA user - Need help.

Thanks for the report Randy. Looks like Ron put you on the right track. I know I have some anger issues too...like, for instance, my grown kids say I have embarrassed them in restaurants a couple of times when I said something less than kind to the waiter when the service or the food didn't suit me....
