Robert, Too Bad - So Sad! You (this site) will be missed by those of us who have been using your site over the years. I know Thursday night chat sessions haven't gathered any more bodies since "type chat" dropped off, but heh, contacts by FB and emails haven't been any much of an improveme...

Re: Branson Ride the Ducks tragedy

As I remember from our Branson Reunion and the Duck Boat rides our vinyl side windows were all rolled up being we had calm seas and beautiful weather. It was also brought to our attention that, yes, engines and transmissions were the latest updates. Guess that $100 million dollar lawsuit will pretty...

Re: Branson Ride the Ducks tragedy

Yes, I could see that the "window blinds" we're in place, so I that being said, there still have been conditions when to grab those overhead preserves and drop those windows to escape safely. Just saying! Guess it's my past experience to always watch for where the PFD's are kept if the nee...

Re: Branson Ride the Ducks tragedy

Been watching the news media on this tragic event on Table Rock Lake. Wonder why there wasn't anyone wearing those life jackets on the duck boats like the ones pointed out to us, even if there was a 'micro burst' storm about to hit. Seems there must have been at least something of a warning before t...

Randy, I'm not sorry to hear about your venture into our world of VA claims, but upset to the fact it's what we now have to look forward too. "Been there, done that", but on a smaller scale as I dealt with only one (1) 3rd. party person for my PTSD evaluation, who I was informed was workin...

Jim MacMaster's awards

Recently during one of my searches on the Internet I came across an article of medals being found in a wooden box in someone's home. And in that box along with some military articles was found a Purple Heart belonging to Sgt. James L. MacMaster. That person(s) contacted the local news media who in t...

Past company commanders

Vietnam veterans, I don't know how many of you know about an historian who's a former company commander that was assigned to our unit back when the 6/31st first arrived in-country. That person was Capt. Grady Smith who is now carrying on as the 31st Regiment's historian. You can view his auto-biogra...

Randy, Now what did I tell you on what to expect from Dawn!. She doesn't want details as to what actually happened, but what how we saw things and what went through our heads on being in-country. Our feelings, deep emotional as they may be, has to documented by the veteran. It will pull you apart, g...

Charlie,

Finally go to looking for that CD of Delta Co. that Robert Hill sent me. Larry, Hai (Tiger Scout) & Lt. Hill are showing us at Nha Be outside our so-called 'bunker' that was put together in about 1 day.
Not sure if you would remember Larry, but glad to post his photo.

Randy, First of all, it's good you're seeking help as a 1st time VA user. I'm surprised it's taken this long in seeking some advise, but at least you've come to 'one' of the right places. I myself am dealing with the Livingston Cty, Veteran Services. Luckily I'm able to work through their Service Of...

Immersion Foot was affecting the troops so much as to see an increase in Sick Call from painful, swollen feet and the discomfort of trying to hump the bush. In order to heal we had to dry-out our feet. Some of us had it so bad that they hat to cut their boots off or walk barefoot to the Aid Station ...
