31st Regiment and Siberia
I saw this offering on ebay of a Regiment organization day pamphlet from 1935. One of the historical notes was about the Siberian expedition when the Regiment was only about 3 years old. It landed in the Siberian AO from the China side on August 21, 1918. It's first casualty was eight days later. Th...

Re: Who is Urban Miyares?
There are still lots of video's online after several in this string have gone away. The missing include the American Airlines Sky Ball speech that started the whole thing when Urban had the nerve to link it on the 6/31st facebook page looking for someone to help his lie in any way. Here is one I pic...

Sensory inclusive bars
Yes..... I had to read that article. Seems people with conditions like PTSD are now being made more comfortable in places that before they avoided because they were setting off all sorts of adverse reactions. For instance snip from a story about a Birmingham bar called the Paper Doll: Kulture City s...

Re: Who is Urban Miyares?
Yep , Vern. Ten minutes after I posted something on his site I was deleted. So was Ron Raymond. Others fared a bit better and Jerry even exchanged some messages. But... As Jerry posted before you.... Urban deleted all the comments from his loyal fans and from 6/31st guys in the one string. I'm total...

Re: Who is Urban Miyares?
I found this Veterans History Project interview with Urban. It's not a polished TV appearance or performance like at the Sky Ball. l He is only responding to the questions. Note the two weeks leave before Vietnam, his statement, make his entry at earliest, after his two days at shipping point from U...

Re: I moved the Who is Urban Miyares string
Now that time has passed, and nobody with a relationship to the 6th of the 31st is likely to get their dander up over the the upset caused by the rift between some of us and the 31st Regiment Association over dragging their heels over this guy's story and how it played out, I thought I would bring t...

Re: Who is Urban Miyares?
This string had been in the members only forum after it had done as much as it could in general view to shine some light on who Miyares was in relation to the 6th of the 31st. Now that time has passed, and nobody with a relationship to the 6th of the 31st is likely to get their dander up over the th...

Re: I moved the Who is Urban Miyares string
I went back and looked at the string that developed from the statement. Someone must have said something on his facebook page and he deleted it. His loyal fans were wondering how any such evil person could attack such a sainted person. And...it wasn't me that posted whatever it was. I haven't tried ...

Re: I moved the Who is Urban Miyares string
I haven't been checking out his facebook page lately but noticed this tonight. Hi Everyone, There has recently been a posting on FB about my Vietnam story being false, etc. I ask everyone to wait until my memoir is published as the entire Vietnam episode is covered in this book, and hopefully will a...

Transparent is a fad word that makes me cringe
In the US the news is full of statements by political figures and news talking heads that contain the word "transparent" as an adjective of choice instead of saying "being honest" or not hiding the truth. Take this loaded with "transparent" statement by the departing ac...

Bill McMullen Charlie Company
Floyd Jones re-posted what looks like a statement from Bill's youngest sister on Facebook. What was posted was this: Bill McMullen, Vietnam war hero, firefighter, father, and friend of so many I can’t keep count, died Tuesday, Feb 12 in the morning after a brief illness while on his yearly ski trip ...

Read this recent veteran appreciation story
Ron Raymond sent me a link to the VVA Veteran Organization page and I found this story while looking for one he wanted me to see. http://vvaveteran.org/38-6/38-6_schroeder.html A guy wrote about going to a local veterans ceremony where local veterans of Vietnam were being honored with a book as a to...

Political public values and a Governor in Virginia
The Governor of Virginia has a public values problem. No... he wasn't involved with paying off hookers or running a bogus college for boobs looking to learn how to get rich quick. It was worse than that. He had his picture in a college yearbook 35 years ago as either a KKK guy or a white guy in blac...

One thing I didn't make clear. Once you follow the link, hit the check boxes on the left. Once you do this ikons appear on the map in the screen. Click on the ikons and zoom in for what each ikon represents and the present Google Earth location.

Chamberlain, Jackson, Cu Chi in 1969
The 6th of the 31st took over Chamberlain sometime in early to mid 1970. It was at place four or five K's West of a village called Duc Hoa. Later in 1970 Alpha was at FSB Jackson , out of which the "Island" incident that has been talked about happened. And very late in the remaining time o...

"Vietnam War... For the ones who fought it " maps
There is a group that is collecting location information from the Vietnam war and marking the locations on a sub page of Google Earth . Some of what they have is good and some only approximate. They seem to be using locations from the book Where We Were in Vietnam plus submissions from numerous peop...

Randy, that is a touching comment. Sometimes I think this site has no purpose any longer. I pinned your message to the top of each forum to remind myself that maybe it does.

Re: There was server failure recently
Got a bogus email today saying the site had been hacked and that I had to remake my password. If anybody gets one of those it was not from me. The site wasn't hacked and nobody has to change their password. The problem was with a server and with the format of this board being not up to date. Don't a...

Re: Armour Wilcox and ebay
Seller says he bought the album off of ebay several years ago. In a way it's just photo trash left by somebody few knew or remember, but in another way, it's all that remains as evidence of whoever that young kid was. Perhaps ominously, it suggests that there isn't anything left of his family either...

Armour Wilcox and ebay
Armour Wilcox was an E5 in Alpha Company on December 8, 1968 when he was killed by small arms fire. Nobody in the Wall page has remembered him. However, there is a listing on ebay right now. Seems to be his photo album from Vietnam, complete with a small town newspaper obituary and a copy of a hando...

Re: There was server failure recently
To prevent confusion, I deleted several posts in this string. Some of those posts stated that the site was coming to an end because of major corruption to the message board functions and no more money to throw at repair. However, a new course is going to be attempted to make repairs at no dollar cos...

So you think the US states follow and believe in the Constitution?

So where do you get your world news?
TV news is usually either too abbreviated or slanted in one way or the other to suit me...usually either bashing Trump for something, or in the case of the right wing sources, praising him for some of the same things with little to no exposition as to why in either case. The online stuff is often be...
