Politicians wasting money

Postby Delta75 » Wed Oct 14, 2020 6:26 pm

These Supreme Court nominee interview sessions are a total waste of time and money.
(1) The nominee avoids answering the “sensitive” questions, and ever if she were to answer them truthfully, it would not make a difference.
(2) With the GOP controlling the Senate, the nominee’s approval is guaranteed; therefore, why go through the formality of these interviews?
(3) Instead of wasting time on these interviews, why can’t Congress spend their time on trying to do something to help those suffering due to COVID?

Well....yeah. I agree it's pretty much a dog and pony show. Trumps choice could admit to all of the accusations and it wouldn't make any difference in the outcome. About like when they tried to impeach Trump. Trump was guilty as charged but the Republicans didn't care. If the tables were turned the Democrats would be just as pig headed.

We need a third mainstream party. The space between the Democrats and Republicans has gotten so wide that a third party could fit in with room to spare.

Maybe the next surge of the virus will grab a few more of the geriatric politicians.

What we really need are term limits, but you will never get Congress to vote themselves out of a job.....
