The evil we support in the world today

Postby Niner Alpha » Sun May 20, 2018 11:06 am

I was talking to a friend right after the Israeli troops killed 60 unarmed protesters and wounded thousands more...in one day. Collectively over a few weeks the casualty numbers are unknown to me but how many the armed troops killed must be much larger in total killed and wounded numbers. The Gaza concentration camp is about the same size as Detroit and the inmates number about two million with a high percentage of children. The unarmed protesters were still inside the fence of that locked in camp when they were shot down. Meanwhile our media repeats the Israeli line of justification with no push back. Trumps daughter and her husband, as loyal supporters of Israel and poppa Trump, were making speeches at the new American embassy in Jerusalem as though nothing was happening beyond a simple protest twenty or thirty miles away.

The American press..... CBS interviewed Netanyahu and his remarks amounted to this:

On May 14, Israeli snipers and other forces gunned down more than 60 Palestinians, and wounded thousands of others, including civilians, journalists, and paramedics. “You try nonlethal means and they don’t work,” said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. “So you’re left with bad choices. It’s a bad deal. You know, you try and you go for below the knee, and sometimes it doesn’t work, and unfortunately these things are avoidable.”

My friend was all in with Netanyahu. Palestinians are Muslim so they must be wrong and terrorists put them up to the protest and rock throwing against soldiers firing at them. It was not surprising that he thought that. Old people like us tend to be "conservative" and latch on to the notion that has been sold us by tradition that the Israelis are our friends....didn't the Nazi's do heinous things to them and kill millions of them 75 or so years ago? They wouldn't turn the table against another defenseless people ...would they? Besides, don't all card carrying Christians recognize their connection to the old testament tribe from which Christ was birthed?

I think the US has lost it's conscience....... if it ever had one. Read this editorial and tell me what you think.
