Old guys like us verdict on Trump

Trump is hated by many and loved by many. Anyway you feel about him he has more than once made most people's jaw drop seeing the unpredictable things he has done. The latest "I've been robbed" tantrum that provoked mass protest and Capital invasion really takes the cake. Now Nancy and Chuck have gotten their bowels in an uproar we are in the middle of an impeachment that will only reach a conclusion after Trump is no longer President.

If you were on a jury to decide what happened to Trump because of his Presidential term which would come nearest to how you are feeling about it?

Actually none really fit what I'm thinking, how about banning him from ever holding public office,
remove his Secret Service detail forever, the news media never mention him again, drop all charges
against him and politicians never talk about him..... ever.
Make him quietly go away, never to be in the news again..... so we can move on to important things.

Sadly, none of our ideas will happen.

Pretending like he never happened is like taking a shit and not wiping. He has clearly shown us again that a President is not infallible in matters of the public best interest and often takes the wrong path. Presidents are often not made of the best stuff that America has to offer as a leader as we have seen over a long history of Presidents. They are most often made by party odds makers and special interests promoting whomever they think can win and is willing to take a job no sane person would want. What could we, and can we going forward, expect from candidates with no standards to reach as a qualifier for office other than the ones molded by those who promote them? Trump probably will go down as the wreck we should have all see coming from the very beginning. He is a lot like a player in a Shakespearean tragedy that we knew would come to no good end from the very beginning.

Right now all those troops are in Washington because Trump tried to incite, and continues to try to incite, demonstrable anger over the fact that he lost the election. His ego motivates and sells the lie of him being cheated and a lie told enough becomes believed. Turn on the facebook and read the comments of the people who are raving with outrage as though the revolution that Trump is inspiring is justified. Talk to some of your old friends who are totally enthralled by the Trump personna and rhetoric. Trump made them that way.

Let's hope all those troops in Washington are unnecessary.

Sadly even after Trump is no longer President, we still have people like Ted Cruz, Lindsey Graham and Marco Rubio as power figures within the Republican Party.

"WASHINGTON (AP) — U.S. defense officials say they are worried about an insider attack or other threat from service members involved in securing President-elect Joe Biden’s inauguration, prompting the FBI to vet all of the 25,000 National Guard troops coming into Washington for the event.

The massive undertaking reflects the extraordinary security concerns that have gripped Washington following the deadly Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol by pro-Trump rioters. And it underscores fears that some of the very people assigned to protect the city over the next several days could present a threat to the incoming president and other VIPs in attendance."

The FBI is worried that the National Guard may not be moral enough to protect the festivities involving Trump supporters, Buggalo Boys, QAnon supporters, BLM campaigners red hat wearing middle aged angry people from parts unknown and assorted others.

Remember this song when the US was concerned with if the soldiers drafted were moral enough to go to Vietnam.

Well, it's over and Trump is gone. Now Biden is the next best thing to Jesus according to the establishment....for a week or two. Maybe he will do a good job. I wish him well.
