Saturation Ambush in late 69

Postby Niner Alpha » Thu Oct 25, 2018 12:19 pm

I ran across this Army report on the 3rd Brigade of the 9th for operations and lessons learned over what looks like to be from November 1, 69 to the end of January of 1970. One of the tactical notions that had been evolved to was "saturation" ambush operations. That and day time air mobile operations. It's a PDF file.

At the end of of the report , about page 64, there is an interesting bit about the ACV team and it's activity. It goes on about how comforting that when the ACV hit the 500 pound bomb in January nobody was killed. In any case, I'm attaching a reproduction of the part about saturation ambushes.
