Passing of "Top" Sergeant Major Floyd Vernon Bennett

Sadly I must inform you men of the passing of another of our Brothers. I will copy/past the notification from his daughter Donna Monds. I have forwarded this notice to all of the Alpha men and several HHC men for whom we have email addresses on our 6/31st roster.

"My dad Sargent Major Floyd Vernon Bennett passed away Dob 5-15-33 to 9-18-18 we will have a military funeral grave side in Jacksonville Florida on Monday 11 o'clock funeral at Glen Baptist Church and 2 :00 grave side in Jacksonville FL.
My mom Linda Bennett wanted me to let you all know ."

He was at the Branson Reunion. He was the 1st Sgt. of Alpha when it was at Ft. Lewis before going to Vietnam. Here he is to the right in a photo with Col. Logan on left and unknown to me reunion attendee in the center.

Looks like Capt Quisenberry of Delta Company 68/69 in the middle.

Ron Raymond was looking forward to seeing Quisenberry but didn't meet up with him at the reunion for some reason.

I remember that Cpt. Quisenberry was the CO of Delta when I first arrived there on the FO team.

I saw Capt Quisenberry only one time at the reunion, and that was when he was getting off the paddle boat that we took across the lake....

BTW: Not sure if you guys are aware or not but Capt Quisenberry has been battling bladder cancer. Another ailment that the VA refuses to recognize as being caused by Agent Orange. One of my former platoon leaders and one of my RTO's have also been fighting bladder cancer.
