I remember Del. He and I arrived to 6th/31st the same day along with Harland Wilkenson who was killed 9/26/69 when I was wounded also. Although I only new Del for a short time he was a great guy. I have tried also to make contact with any relatives of his. I've tried around Jasper,Mn. but no results. I don't know if Benson is a town anymore. I would appreciate anyone who may hace a picture of him from delta co. I was in echo co.
Terry, I was born and raised in Benson, and it is still very much a town. Del is buried in the city cemetery, and I used to visit him often. It’s a small midwestern town and he was killed serving his country. He was a local hero and everyone remembers him. His mother was always recognized at Memorial Day in the Park. I later joined the military and have since moved away, but I was just back for my moms funeral. I’d be happy to help you however I can, you can reach me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
